LAVERTY FOCUSES ON CONSISTENCY

Like his HM Plant Honda Racing team-mates, Michael Rutter and Karl Harris, Eugene Laverty powered to his third win of the season at Thruxton. The Red Bull Rookies Honda rider was in superb form during the sixth round of the British 125GP Championship, which he now leads by 18 points from Christian Elkin. The Toomebridge teenager has been in blistering form on the Red Bull Rookies Honda RS125 and will enter round seven at Brands Hatch as one of the favourites for the 14-lap race.

Thruxton circuit in Hampshire provided its usual mix of thrills and spills today, as HM Plant Honda Racing’s Michael Rutter took a first race victory in dramatic fashion. In a two-part race (due to an earlier crash) Rutter didn’t make the best restart and had to fight his way through the pack from a track position of seventh.
RUTTER CLOSES THE GAP

In the second British Superbike Championship race of the day, Michael Rutter rode superbly to finish in second place behind Sean Emmett. The 31-year-old Leicestershire rider made another good start, slotting in behind Emmett and John Reynolds and soon upped the pace, setting the fastest lap of the race (1:16.329) as early as the third lap.

Honda Racing’s Karl Harris dominated the British Supersport race at Thruxton today and in adding another win to his tally, also went to the top of the points table in the process. The 24-year-old Yorkshire rider made a great start to the 18-lap race and soon pulled a comfortable gap at the front. In fact, the only rider capable of staying with him in the early stages was his championship rival, Michael Laverty.

Eugene Laverty rode the perfect race at Thruxton to take his third win of the season and increase his British 125GP Championship lead. The 18-year-old Red Bull Rookies Honda rider got a great start to today’s race and led for the first two laps before defending champion Michael Wilcox took the lead.

HM Plant Honda Racing’s Michael Rutter qualified third on the grid at Thruxton today to continue his 100 per cent record of a front row start in every British Superbike Championship round so far this year.
HARRIS ON POLE AGAIN!

Honda Racing’s Karl Harris claimed his third pole position of the season at Thruxton circuit today. The 24-year-old current British Supersport Champion posted his fastest lap of 1:17.614 in the first qualifying session of the day and no one was able to better this time – not only during the remainder of this session but also during the entire 40-minute afternoon qualifying session.

Red Bull Rookies Honda rider Eugene Laverty claimed his third consecutive pole position today at Thruxton with a stunning time of 1:21.181 – a quarter of a second inside the existing lap record and over half-a-second faster than anybody else. The championship leading Ulsterman – who celebrated his 18th birthday on Thursday – was delighted with his performance aboard the Red Bull Rookies Honda RS125.
KIYONARI BACK ON TRACK

The sixth round of the British Superbike Championship at Thruxton this weekend sees the eagerly awaited return of Ryuichi Kiyonari after missing the last two events of the series through injury. He will join his HM Plant Honda Racing team-mate Michael Rutter on the grid for Sunday’s two 22-lap Superbike races after undergoing surgery in Japan to mend a broken collarbone.

Michael Rutter is confident he can put his championship challenge firmly back on track at his home round of the Think British Superbike Championship this weekend. Mallory Park is quite literally on the doorstep of the 31-year-old rider who lives at Kirkby Mallory.
