DANI OLIVERAS CONQUERS THE OPEN FREE OF SANTIGOSA
13 April 2007 - Sherco

The young Sherco rider Dani Oliveras prevailed in the final test of the Three Day Trial of Santigosa, a spectacular test for the best riders.

The new system of competition allows the rider to choose which line they want to ride. The more difficult the line the more scoring, the rider has to determine his strategy as he attacks the sections. In the first five sections of classification Freixa and Pascuet were out of the race, whereas Oliveras made up distance with spectacular steps in the sections and in the final round did not give an option to his rival, Dani Gibert. In this way, Oliveras maintains his progression of successes at the controls of his new Sherco 3.2 4T, just a few days after winning the first round of the European Championship. The Sherco rider was one of the attractions of the Three Day Trial of Santigosa, in which the climate was very favorable after the previous days of rain. Indeed, the first day with the most difficult ground conditions, Oliveras obtained the best score in the sections, although the time penalty relegated him to third place. The second and third days the ground conditions were ideal and the Sherco rider obtained the second best score of the day and thus the second best score of the three days which allowed him to compete for the open free final, which made him the incontestable winner.
