VESPA RANGE JUST GETS BETTER
12 April 2007 - Vespa

Vespa has added a 125cc version of the popular Vespa GTS to its collection of stylish scooters making its portfolio more accessible to a larger number of riders.

On top of this, the Vintage Vespa range has added Portofino Green as an additional colour-way to its range of retro scooters.

Like its predecessor the GTS 250, the Vespa GTS 125cc unites speed and style. Like every other Vespa, the GTS 125 has the trademark monocoque sheet metal chassis that gives the Vespa its legendary strength, reliability and rigidity which contributes to remarkable steering precision. The Vespa GTS 125 is instantly recognisable with its chrome mudguard trim and light positioned midway down the front shield, which is an evocative reminder of Vespas from the 1950s era. The sculpted cowls, bulbous round headlamp and folding aluminium pillion foot pegs are all features that emphasise the unique styling of the Vespa GTS.

The four stroke, four valve, liquid cooled Leader 125cc engine, fully compatible with the stringent Euro 3 emissions standards, delivers a 14.3 hp output to take the Vespa GTS 125 to a top speed of over 100 km/h, providing sufficient reserve power for riding on urban streets and country roads. The large 12” wheels and powerful 220 front and rear disc brakes ensures stability and a smooth ride.

The Vespa GTS 125 is available in Midnight Blue, Excalibur Silver, Dragon Red and Black and is priced at £2,849, on the road, with one year roadside assistance and two year warranty. Also available with this sporty-looking scooter is a top case inner-bag made from leather and canvas, protective fly-screen, a chrome-plated kit inclusive of front and rear carriers, front and side protection and a front bumper guard.

The Vespa Vintage range was launched last year to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Vespa and draws inspiration from two popular modern Vespa designs, the LX and GTS reinterpreting classic design features from the 1950s and 1960s models. A new colour-way of Portofino Green is now available for this stylish range of scooters, as well as the classic Avio Grey colour, which pays homage to the early Vespa prototypes which were all painted in an aeronautic grey.

The Vespa Vintage range includes the Vespa LXV 50cc and 125cc, and the Vespa GTV 125cc and 250cc. The truly retro design includes a rounded headlamp on the front wheel (on the GTV range), a naked handlebar and a sprung seat for the rider and passenger – a necessity for re-creating romantic Roman Holiday moments. The OTR prices with one year roadside assistance (over 50cc) and two year warranty are as follows: LXV 50cc £2,399, LXV 125cc £2,999, GTV 125cc £3,399 and GTV 250cc £3,999.

All you need to get onto two wheels is a valid driving licence (provisional or full) and to complete just one day''s Compulsory Basic Training if you passed your driving test before February 2001.
