02 November 2004 - British Speedway Promoters Association
WORLD Champion Jason Crump has given Belle Vue a massive boost by re-signing for the Manchester club for next season.
Crump has remained loyal to the Aces, who will be under the management of Ian Thomas in 2005, despite speculation linking him with a move elsewhere. Thomas said: ''Jason has been asking what our plans are for the future of Belle Vue, and I think he liked what we are hoping to do.'' SHEFFIELD-based speedway referee David Peet has been appointed as the new co-promoter of Premier League Treble-winners Hull. Peet, whose appointment is subject to official approval later this month, takes over from Eric Boocock at the Yorkshire club, although the Vikings may bring in a separate team manager. Peet said: ''I''ve always wanted to have a go at promoting speedway, even before I took up refereeing.'' --- *BREAKING NEWS THROUGHOUT THE DAY AVAILABLE FROM: OFFICIAL BRITISH SPEEDWAY CLUBCALL NEWSLINE 09066 555 909 (calls cost 60p/min)
