SPEEDWAY 1

NICK Simmons is on his way back to Newport as one of their reserves.
Simmons, 25, last rode for the club during a brief spell in 2001 and has experience of all Premier League tracks.
Wasps owner Tim Stone said: “We know Nick well as he''s been with us before, but although he''s been around for a while he''s still relatively young and has decent improvement in him.”

SPEEDWAY 2

WAYNE Carter has been appointed team manager for the young USA touring team who visit the UK next month.
The former Scunthorpe rider has been forced to retire through injury and has a farewell meeting at Normanby Road on April 1.
H! e said: “This is keeping me involved. Last year’s USA team were a good bunch of lads and hopefully I’ll be able to help them with some bike setups.”
