DUNLOP D208RR - UK DEBUT AT NEC MOTORCYCLE SHOW
03 November 2004 - Dunlop
What do Mat Mladin, who captured his fifth AMA Superbike title in 2004, John Reynolds, newly crowned British Superbike Champion and Richard Wren, Yamaha R6 Cup Champion have in common?
They chose Dunlop Tyres to win in 2004, continuing a long history of success for the Birmingham based tyre manufacturer. Dunlop ''come home'' to the 2004 Motorcycle and Scooter Show at the NEC after a sensationally successful season in worldwide motorcycle racing. It was in the ultra competitive British Superbike Championship where Dunlop truly shone in 2004. Outside of MotoGP, the British Championship has become one of the most fiercely contested and widely publicised race series in the world. This has led to a grid crammed with the very best machinery from all the leading motorcycle manufacturers and ridden by some of the world''s leading riders. An intensive ''tyre war'' in the British Championship added spice to the series, and the Dunlop engineers have relished the challenge to pit their skills against the best. The tyres were developed and produced at Fort Dunlop, just a few miles from the NEC. Dunlop are exhibiting at the 2004 show with Wheel House Tyres on stand R70. Dunlop Motorcycle Sales and Marketing Manager Reg Davis is confident that track success will translate to sales success. ''The NEC is the UK show debut of our Dunlop D208RR tyre. This tyre took Richard Wren to glory in the Virgin Mobile Yamaha R6 Cup, and is now available for both road and track use. This tyre has broken lap records in 2004, and is sure to be popular with superbike riders at the show''
