LORENZO IS THE FASTEST AT JEREZ
23 November 2005 - Aprilia
THIRD DAY OF TESTING
The third day of testing on the Andalusian track of Jerez de la Frontera began with the usual storm that looked to block Aprilias work but the afternoon session ended by allowing the riders, Giorgio Lorenzo, Hector Barbera, Marco Simoncelli, and Alex De Angelis, to complete a few laps on the dry pavement. The fastest on the track was Giorgio Lorenzo who proved to be even more comfortable atop the RSW 250. His 1440 was the best performance of the three days at Jerez for the Aprilia riders. Close behind him was teammate Hector Barbera with a time of 1444, who continues to improve and is enthusiastic about the 4-liter from Noale. The third-best time came from Alex De Angelis who stopped the chronometer at 1445. Alex, who is bringing forth great developmental work on his new 2006 RSW, was able to take advantage of the track for 57 laps. We were finally able to work today said Alex and I am positively impressed with the new motorcycle. In the afternoon we carried out a comparative work between the old and new frame and the results were great. Also improving was Marco Simoncelli who went from a 1470 on the first day to a 1453 today. Im always taking on more with my hand said Simoncelli I have to say that the heavy sensations I experienced in Valencia during changes in direction no longer bother me. I am continually feeling more comfortable notwithstanding the track that doesnt allow me to race ideally thanks to the ever-present humidity. Yet, I had a lot of fun and was also able to improve my times. The Aprilia riders will be on the track in Valencia again on December 7-9th for a new testing session. THIRD DAY TIMES 1 Giorgio Lorenzo 1440 58 laps 2 Hector Barbera 1444 60 laps 3 Alex De Angelis 1445 57 laps 4 Marco Simoncelli 1453 54 laps
