TESTING IN VALENCIA
08 December 2006 - Aprilia
LORENZO LAYS DOWN THE LAW
The second day of Aprilia testing ended on the Ricardo Tormo track in Valencia. Again laying down the law in the 250 was Giorgio Lorenzo who, with his 1352, confirmed his riding of the RSW 250. Lorenzo completed 58 laps with a quick pace. His teammate, Hector Barbera, already took off with the second best time of the time eight-tenths of a second from Lorenzos mark (1360). Exact same times for Alex De Angelis and Roberto Locatelli as they both finished with a 1362. Alex is continuing to develop the 2006 motorcycle and completed ten laps more than Locatelli (66 for the rider from San Martino and 56 for the ex-125 world champion). Just behind them was Alex Debon at 1367 who was busy covering kilometers in the seat of the RSV 250 suited up as a test rider. Absent was Marco Simoncelli who returned to Italy after the fracture to his right scapula. Marco was visited yesterday by Dr. Costa who changed his dressing. There are no operations in sight for Marco and the time before the next testing allows Simoncelli to not have to go under the knife in order to heal. Tomorrow is the last day of testing on the circuit in Valencia. TESTING TIMES Lorenzo 58 laps time 1,35.2 Barbera 79 laps time 1,36.0 Locatelli 56 laps time 1,36.1 De Angelis 66 laps time 1,36.1 Debon 38 laps time 1,36.7
