WOLVES FACE TIGERS TEST
20 February 2007 - Wolverhampton Speedway
WOLVERHAMPTON will roar into action on the very first day of the new speedway season - at Premier League Sheffield.
The Parrys International Wolves will make their first visit to the plush Owlerton Stadium in over a decade on Thursday, March 15. Freddie Lindgren, David Howe, Magnus Karlsson, Carl Wilkinson and Theo Pijper are confirmed starters for the Monmore men. Wolverhampton owner Chris Van Straaten said: ''Sheffield initially asked me if I could take Redcar there, but that''s just not possible as we have an event planned at Middlesbrough FC that night. ''But I told them I would work on a Wolves team and we''ll be going there. David Howe, Fr! eddie Lindgren, Magnus Karlsson, Carl Wilkinson and Theo Pijper will be there but at the moment it loks like Billy Hamill and Peter Karlsson can''t do it. ''They both have prior engagements which, at the moment, they cannot get out of but I have two exciting riders lined up to take their place. ''I believe it will be a valuable exercise for the lads before we go to Swindon in our opening league meeting the following Thursday.''
