20 February 2007 - British Speedway Promoters Association
SPEEDWAY 1 SHEFFIELD have confirmed Wolverhampton as their opening night opposition at Owlerton on March 15. The Elite League club will be sending a strong side, including Fredrik Lindgren and David Howe, to provide Tigers with a tough test. Sheffield owner Neil Machin said: ''Wolves have consistently been one of the top clubs in the sport over the past 20-years and the team they''re bringing will really stretch us, which is what it''s all about.'' SPEEDWAY 2 FORMER Newcastle star Kenneth Bjerre is heading back to the north east for Kevin Little’s farewell at Redcar on April 5. Bjerre, in the news recently because of his controversial move to Peterborough, was Little’s team-mate at the start of his British career. Said Little: “After he’d had a few weeks to settle in, I often had only a distant view of him – he was at one end of the straight and I was at the other!”
