APRILIA LEADS ALSO THE 250CC CLASS
25 March 2006 - Aprilia
In the 250 class, three Aprilia bikes made it to the front row.
They are the bikes of Hector Barbera (provisional pole with a time of 1`44.561), Jorge Lorenzo (1´44.584) and Alex Debon, fourth with a time of 1´45.268. Completing the top ten positions were 6 Aprilia bikes, primarily with three occupying the front row. Other than the official bikes there was a good showing for the privateer Aprilias. Among those taking notice was the RSV 250 of Dirk Heidof (Keifer Racing) in sixth position, and team mate to him, Anthony West in seventh. In 10th position is Alex Baldolini, he also being on the RSV 250, but that of Team Matteoni Racing. To the other hand Jakub Smrz with the RSV 250 LE riding for Team AB Cardion followed by Roberto Locatelli, also with the RSV 250 LE riding for team Toth, completed the dominance of Aprilia riders in the top ten. Unfortunately for Taro Sekiguchi (Ticino Hosting Campetella Racing) he was a victim of a bad fall at the end of the first turn. Taro´s leg is believed to be broken, and makes for Taro an extremely unhappy return to the circuit, having crashed here at this circuit last year in preseason testing. Sekiguchi has been transferred to the hosipital for an immediate operation to repair the fracture.
