INDOOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP SEES CABESTANY GAIN GROUND
22 February 2007 - Sherco
With this victory in Milan he closes the gap on his competition in the provisional classification
Albert Cabestany obtained the victory in Milan last night in the sixth round of the Indoor Trials Championship of the World. He was followed by Toni Bou and Adam Raga. With this result the Sherco rider from Tarragona reduces the gap between him and the second place rider. Albert is now only 2 points behind Adam Raga with the final round of the competition scheduled for the middle of March in Madrid. Albert Cabestany started the qualification lap taking some points in the early sections but managed to finish in third place one point in front of the Japanese rider Takahisa Fujinami which advanced him to the final. Several of the sections were changed prior to the final lap in order to make them more difficult, the changes looked to favor the current champion; however that was not to be the case as Cabestany gained an advantage in sections 3 and 5, while his rivals failed to capitalize, thus the Sherco rider won his first victory of the year in the Indoor Championship. 2007 itwc classifications gp final classification pos. riders pts 1 Albert Cabestany (Sherco) 13 2 Toni Bou (Montesa) 15 3 Adam Raga (Gas Gas) 18 2007 itwc provisional classification pos. riders pts 1 Toni Bou (Montesa) 51 2 Adam Raga (Gas Gas) 41 3 Albert Cabestany (Sherco) 39 2007 itwc championship 2007 world indoor championship date indoor 14/01/2007 G.P.
