IN MEMORY OF WOLFGANG KALAUCH Former German sidecar passenger Wolfgang Kalauch died last Wednesday in Waldbröl, Germany. He was 78 years old. Wolfgang Kalauch was born on January 20, 1929. During his career, he was sidecar passenger of Helmut Fath during the seasons 1968 and 1969. In 1968 the team obtained the World title with the famous URS sidecar, winning the races in Nürburgring, Imatra and Hockenheim. In 1970, Wolfgang Kallauch was passenger of Klaus Enders during six of the eight races of the season; they obtained three wins together (France, Tourist Trophy, Czechoslovakia) and the World title. As from 1971, Kalauch was passenger of Siefried Schauzu; they finished second of the Sidecar World Championship in 1971, third in 72, 73 and 74, 20th in 1975 and 5th in 1976. In 1977, Wolfgang Kalauch went to race with Rolf Steinhausen. They finished 4th of the Championship, and 14th in 1978 In the name of the FIM, President Vito Ippolito and CEO Guy Maitre present their sincere condolences to his family and his friends.
