SPEEDWAY NEWS AND FIXTURES 28.10.04
28 October 2004 - British Speedway Promoters Association

HULL completed the treble with victory in the Jack Young Shield play-offs over Reading.

The Vikings, who were rock bottom this time last year with their future in doubt, beat Reading 52-44 on the night – 104-85 on aggregate. Garry Stead was the top Hull rider with 13+2 in another impressive all-round Vikings performance and both Danny Bird and Matej Zagar scored 13 each for the Racers.

NEIL Machin has admitted he has held talks about the potential sale of Sheffield to an Elite League consortium - but that''s as far as the matter has gone. The Tigers co-promoter is well aware of speculation gathering pace that the club is ripe for a move up. He said: ''There has never been an offer put on the table. There have been discussions and approaches.”
