28 October 2004 - British Speedway Promoters Association
HULL completed the treble with victory in the Jack Young Shield play-offs over Reading.
The Vikings, who were rock bottom this time last year with their future in doubt, beat Reading 52-44 on the night – 104-85 on aggregate. Garry Stead was the top Hull rider with 13+2 in another impressive all-round Vikings performance and both Danny Bird and Matej Zagar scored 13 each for the Racers. NEIL Machin has admitted he has held talks about the potential sale of Sheffield to an Elite League consortium - but that''s as far as the matter has gone. The Tigers co-promoter is well aware of speculation gathering pace that the club is ripe for a move up. He said: ''There has never been an offer put on the table. There have been discussions and approaches.” FIXTURES THURSDAY OCTOBER 28: 16-LAPPER INDIVIDUAL: Ipswich 7.30 FRIDAY OCTOBER 29: CONFERENCE LEAGUE KNOCKOUT CUP FINAL 1st LEG: Boston v Mildenhall 7.30 CONFERENCE LEAGUE: Oxford v Carmarthen 7pm followed by Oxford v Buxton INTERNATIONAL: Scotland v England U-21 (at Edinburgh) 7.30 CONFERENCE TROPHY: Weymouth v King’s Lynn 7.30 SATURDAY OCTOBER 30: ACE OF HERTS INDIVIDUAL: Rye House 7pm PRIDE OF THE CONFERENCE INDIVIDUAL: Stoke 7.30 SUNDAY OCTOBER 31: ELITE LEAGUE KNOCKOUT CUP FINAL 2ND LEG: Poole v Ipswich 4pm EUPHONY CLASSIC INDIVIDUAL: Reading 6pm CONFERENCE LEAGUE KNOCKOUT CUP FINAL 2ND LEG: Mildenhall v Boston 4pm CONFERENCE LEAGUE: Newport v Newcastle 2.30, Carmarthen v Buxton 2.30 --- *BREAKING NEWS THROUGHOUT THE DAY AVAILABLE FROM: OFFICIAL BRITISH SPEEDWAY CLUBCALL NEWSLINE 09066 555 909 (calls cost 60p/min)
