VIEW THE 2007 MOTORCYLES FROM HARLEY-DAVIDSON & BUELL UK
16 February 2007 - Harley-Davidson UK

Harley-Davidson and Buell UK at Irish Motorbike and Scooter Show

Harley-Davidson and Buell UK will exhibit a full range of 2007 Model Year motorcycles at the forthcoming 5th Irish Motorbike and Scooter Show. The country’s biggest show runs between Friday 2 March and Sunday 4 March at the RDS Irish International Convention and Exhibition Centre in Dublin.

The centrepiece of the Harley-Davidson stand will be the all-new XR1200 prototype, which has now been developed beyond the concept and design stages. It debuts in Ireland to gauge media and public reaction to a new breed of Harley-Davidson, with an emphasis on performance, handling and sporting style.

Development goals include: Harley-Davidson’s most powerful regular production, European specification, air-cooled V-Twin engine; and excellent handling, suspension and braking – all fine-tuned for European roads. The XR1200’s styling was inspired by the Motor Company’s legendary XR 750 dirt track race bike, which was introduced in 1970 and is still successfully competing today. The XR750 has notched up thousands of race wins in the hands of famous flat track riders such as nine times Grand National Champion Scott Parker.

Harley-Davidson’s 2007 Model Year features a wide range of products to suit all tastes and riding styles. The 883 Sportster and 883 Low - both now with fuel injection and increased torque for 2007 - represent fantastic value for money starting at just €9,599 (OTR). For an eclectic mix of performance and style, the Harley-Davidson VRSC range offers uniquely designed machines with breathtaking acceleration (0-60 in 3.4 seconds) and a variety of ergonomically styled seating positions.

Harley-Davidson’s big twin offering this year includes 1,584cc six-speed transmissions and interactive intake and exhaust systems. The range includes the iconic Fat Boy, which has been totally revamped for 2007 and the stylish, stripped down Street Bob. All 2007 Harley-Davidson models now include a proximity alarm system.

This year’s Buell motorcycles line-up includes seven distinct models, each with their own performance, focus and unique design concepts. Every machine incorporates the brand’s Trilogy of Technology design principles of low unsprung weight, frame rigidity and mass centralisation. These features enable Buell motorcycles to be stable and agile with diminutive wheelbases. The edgy brand’s 2007 range starts at €12,250 with the City X and features the renowned XB12R Firebolt – voted by Bike magazine as “Best Handling motorcycle” in 2004 – and the versatile and functional Buell XB12X Ulysses.

Staff from Harley-Davidson and Buell UK’s Waterford dealership on the south coast of Ireland will be on hand to answer questions about all models on display. Entrance tickets for the show start at €12 and can be purchased at www.irishmotorbikeshow.com, where full details of the event are available.
