COLIN HILL
30 October 2004 - British Speedway Promoters Association

BRITISH Speedway will unite in grief following the sad news of Exeter promoter Colin Hill''s death.

Hill, who has just completed 20 seasons in charge of the Falcons, lost his battle with cancer at 3am on Saturday. Falcons official Tony Lethbridge said: ''This is a very sad day for everyone who knows Colin, he was a very close friend of mine. ''Even though I was aware of Colin''s illness, this still comes as a massive shock. ''I am told his passing was very peaceful in the Exeter Hospice. ''Colin kept speedway alive in Exeter for the last 20-years and he deserves a tremendous amount of credit for that. I think it''s fair to say he was always regarded as one of the sport''s nice guys.'' Funeral arrangements will be made public in due course.
