STONER WINS
01 October 2005 - Aprilia

Casey Stoner has also won the Gp of Qatar after his win in Sepang last week.

The Carrera Suglasses LCR rider dominated the run starting in front and finishing as leader of the 22 laps race.

''I made a beautiful start - said Stoner - I have always been in front and despite the warm to 6 laps from the end some shiver has come. The bike, began not to give 100% anymore and toward the end I believed that Lorenzo took back me.''

Thanks to the victory of Stoner the rider’s championship is reopened. Now the Australian rider with 213 points is only 26 stung by the peak.

''With Dani Pedrosa that finished in fourth position – said again Stoner - I can hope to go to fight for the championship. The next race will be the competition of house for me. In this moment my Aprilia is all right and with the team I am working very well, it would be beautiful to recover other heavy points to Phillip Island.''

Behind Stoner, the first Aprilia to the finishing line is the Sebastian Porto’s one (Aprilia Aspar 250). The Argentinian rider fought in the group of the pursuers of Stoner succeeding in closing the competition in fifth position.

First of the private riders is Sylvain Giuntoli (Team Gp de France), in ninth. Giansanti, author of good qualifying session has closed in twelfth position followed by Martin Cardenas (Aprilia Germany), Steve Jenkner (NoCable), Andrew Ballerini dancer (Abbruzzo Racing), Chaz Davies (Aprilia Germany) and Simone Corsi (MS Aprilia Italy Raced) in seventeenth position.

With a great start, Alex De Angelis (Ms Aprilia Italia Corse) was in bagarre with Aoyama and Porto, when he lost the control of his RSW 250, finishing his competition in the sand.

''I was pushing for remaining in the leading group - said Alex - but the front slipped a lot of and while I was being behind to Aoyama, I have lost the control of the motorbike. It’s a pity because a zero in classification is the worst result I could get in this part of the season. I want to recover some positions in the championship and a zero now maens an heavy stop.''

Out of the competition also Randy De Puniet. The French of the Aprilia Aspar 250 team had technical problems and preferred to enter int the garage.

Thanks to the victory of Casey Stoner, Aprilia is at oly one point to the top of the constructor’s Championship with 278 points.
