SIMONCELLI’S FIRST POLE OF THE 05 SEASON
08 May 2005 - Aprilia
Marco Simoncelli mades the first pole position of the year.
The italian diver with 1’46”996 on Jerez de la Frontera, goes on the top list followed by Mattia Pasini (1’47”397). The qualifying session of Simoncelli gives to the driver a good reason to be confident. “I’m very satisfied for the lap time – the young Aprilia driver said – today I made better than my best in winter test. Looking to the race there only some chassis settings to change, but I’m very confident for sunday. “ Marco won in Jerez last year and he looks to this season to be a winner. “Last year, after Jerez my season was without any other good results, so I want to think only to do the best.” Mattia Pasini in second position after the first qualifying session, is the only that can fight with Simoncelli in 125 at the moment. “No bad. We’re working looking for the race –said Pasini – Tomorrow I hope to do better, but you know, the chequed flag is sunday…” Talking about Aprilia riders in 125, good was the qualifying session of Hector Faubel (7th), De Rosa (8th) and Zanetti (9).
