SIMONCELLI CONFIRMS THE POLE
09 May 2005 - Aprilia

Absolute protagonist of the qualifying session was the wind, that has dragged sand into the track.

For many driverss there has been the contact with the asphalt to the low adherence of the tires with the dirt present in some lines of the Jerez cicuit.

Marco Simoncelli of the NoCable Team confirmed his pole position without having improved his reference (1\''46\''996 made in Q1).

\''I am happy for this first seasonal pole - said Simoncelli - but today it was difficult to drive. I am fallen and I don\''t even know why. I was not pushing when I crashed. Then I have seen in tv the other drivers that where I crashed, they lifted a lot of earth… I have reentered with the bike N2 but I have also had a problem with that. When I could came back on track it was too late.\''

With Marco Simoncelli in front row, tomorrow we’ll find Mattia Pasini (also for him the done time is worth to record yesterday, 1\''47\''397).

\''Today there was not the conditions to be fast - said Pasini - it was useless to risk for going to earth and destroy the bike. In many points of the track, the dirt was on the lines. Tomorrow it will be a beautiful competition, we will give some gas! \''

In second line there will be also the Spaniard Hector Faubel of the Team Master Aspar (in seventh position) and Team Matteoni’s Raffaele De Rosa. This young driver will live the emotion of the world debut in the frame of one of the big prizes with the most greater flow of public (around 150.000 the spectators in the three days of competition).
