SPEEDWAY NEWS AND FIXTURES 27.10.04
27 October 2004 - British Speedway Promoters Association

HULL closed in on the Premier League treble when they clinched the Knockout Cup by defeating the Isle of Wight in the Final.

Defending a 17-point advantage from their home leg, the Vikings wrapped up an eight-point aggregate win at the Smallbrook Stadium. Hull will now look to wrap up the Young Shield where they hold an 11-point lead over Reading with their home leg to come on Wednesday.

HANS Andersen insists that Ipswich are still capable of winning the Elite League Knockout Cup as they defend a six-point advantage at Poole on Sunday.
Andersen: ''Poole will be strong favourites, but we have not given up and we are too good a side to finish the season empty-handed. ''We still have a chance, and there are 15 heats left in our season. We have to make the most of them.''
