SIMONCELLI FINISHES FOURTH
24 July 2005 - Aprilia

The 125 class confirmed once again the most uncertain as it regards the strengths in field.

The Aprilia riders that went off from the front row, Pasini and Simoncelli, have had different destinies. The competition has been stopped to the eighth lap for the haevy rain that began to fall on the asphalt.

Unfortunately Mattia Pasini lost the control of his bike at the second warm up lap.

\''I was going really slow - said Pasini - but I have not succeeded to stay on the bike. I am exactly fallen in the same curve of last year and I have beaten the shoulder equally.\''

Mattia remains, despite the fall, leader of the championship with 100 points same as with Gabor Talmacsi, also him fallen during the 125’s second race.

Marco Simoncelli tried to climb on the platform battling with Lai. Despite the insistent rain, this riders are not spared and at the end Simoncelli will pass under flag in 4th position.

\''It was hard, but luckily I have succeeded in ending the competition - said Simocelli - earning precious points for championship (now Marco has 85 points and own the fifth position). Unluckly I’ve lost the podium, but I had not understood that the I’ve finished the race ‘cause I have not understood in seeing the chart for the heavy rain.\''

After the 2005’s ninth competition, Aprilia is now near the leadership of championship with 164 points.
