PASINI IN PROVISIONAL POLE
14 October 2005 - Aprilia
Mattia Pasini of the Totti Top Sport NGS concluded the first qualifying session of the Australian Gp in provisional pole thanks to the time 1\''38\''665
The Italian rider is immediately shown among the fastest rider of the session. ''As first turn of tests - said Pasini - has not gone badly at all. With the rain fallen this morning we have almost all lost the free practice tests and we have had to work a lot in this official session. The time at disposition to try was not so mutch, tomorrow we will be able to improve. The layout of Phillip Island is really insidious, today has been the wind to disturb however, not so much the cold. I think that it’s possible to return to the victory even if this footstep is not among my favorite.” Together with Pasini there is also in the first row Angel Rodriguez of the Team Toth. The Iberian rider appreciates in particular way the Australian layout. In Phillip Island he had shown in 2001 to interpret above all to the best the initial part of the circuit. In second line, with the seventh time (1\''38\''919) there is Marco Simoncelli of the Team NoCable. Simoncelli, that has signed for next two year a contract with Aprilia for the 250, is one of the accredited pilots for the victory. \''Even if I am to 0,25s from the pole - has said Mark - I don\''t believe has gone badly. We have some problem of setting of the chassis but it is normal considering the fact to have lost the free tests for the rain. The engine, is all right instead already, but the wind is very annoying, for me especially in the first curve, in general it is so strong however that at times it diverts from the ideal trajectories.\'' In third line there is Hector Faubel (Master Aspar Team) that has concluded the session with the time 1\''39\''185 in ninth position; together with him there is also Joan Olive (NoCable), 1\''39\''475, in 12° position.
