The name is Sportster 883 Low; but that’s no reflection on this new motorcycle’s place on the fun scale.

Harley-Davidson’s latest creation is low, seriously sleek and a pure attention-grabber in the very best Sportster tradition.

The front and rear suspension has been lowered and re-tuned to maintain the crisp, precise handling characteristics that make the Sportsters a blast on the back-roads; and with a seat height of just 660mm - it’s the lowest Sportster ever.

The Sportster 883L features an ergonomic package that’s ideal for smaller or novice riders; with a new solo seat that’s positioned further forward and polished widened handlebars pulled back for enhanced comfort and control.

Combined with the mid-mounted foot controls the Sportster 883L provides confidence- inspiring handling; and lifting the Sportster Low off its sidestand is as easy as the low custom look is on the eye.

Power comes from the completely redesigned, rubber-mounted XL Evolution engine with improved cooling, high-flow cylinder heads, lighter pistons and connecting rods. The end result is a narrow, nimble motorcycle powered by this classic, torquey 883cc V-twin engine.

Head-turning styling comes as standard with Harley-Davidson and the 883L is no exception. No fewer than four colour options are available and a bespoke tank graphic sets it apart from the other Sportsters.

There’s heaps of signature XL styling including chrome, staggered ‘shorty’ dual exhaust pipes, a distinctive 12.5 litre fuel tank and the 883cc Evolution engine is silver powder-coated with polished covers.

The Sportster Low will be making its UK debut at the International Motorcycle and Scooter Show at the Birmingham NEC from November 5-14.
