APRILIA IS ON THE TRACK
27 July 2005 - Aprilia
The Aprilia – Motociclismo Team has landed in Japan and is now getting ready for the most famous endurance race in the world.
The Suzuka circuit is receiving all the materials coming from Noale; in the meantime, the riders are getting in touch with the track, aboard their Sr 50. In the images we publish, you can observe the box staging, the first contact of Veghini, De Nardi and Aliverti with the circuit and a picture of the Team. The great adventure in Suzuka will start with the free practice, then the qualifying practice and, on July 31st, the race. Aprilia will be at the starting grid with the riders Veghini, Aliverti and the great novelty Samuela De Nardi: the 21-year-old girl from Vittorio Veneto will become the first Italian woman to ride in the Suzuka 8 Hours. In the previous 28 editions of the race, only seven women have ever taken part: two Japaneses, two Americans, two Canadians and one Dutch. Ten years have gone by since the last woman rode at Suzuka, and the most recent European entry, by Geerie Van Rooyen from Holland, dates back to 1982. Waiting for the race, we wish good luck to our Team!
