SPEEDWAY 1

NEWPORT Mavericks have pulled out of this season''s Conference League - after a decade as members.
They have had difficulty in assembling a competitive team for the new season but the club emphasise the news does not change their Premier League plans.
Conference League co-ordinator Peter Morrish said: ''This is disappointing for the Conference League as Newport reluctantly told me the news. I hope they will return when the circumstances are right to do so.''

SPEEDWAY 2

TICKETS for the historic reopening of Birmingham on March 21 will be on general sale for the first time at Telford this weekend.
Brummies riders! Brent Werner and Aidan Collins feature in the Telford ice spectacular where advance tickets for the Perry Barr date will be available.
Birmingham manager Graham Drury said: “We’re expecting a lot of Birmingham fans to travel to Telford to cheer their riders on.”
