STEFAN EVERTS GETS CLOSE UP AND PERSONAL WITH KTM MACHINES
05 February 2007 - KTM-Sportmotorcycles AG
Stefan Everts, KTM’s new Motocross Race Director and one of the all-time MX racing legends has been getting close up and personal with KTM machines.
Everts has seized the pre-season opportunity to get to know the bikes that KTM’s 2007 factory riders David Philippaerts and Jonathan Barragan (MX1) and Tyla Rattray and Tommy Searle (MX2) will put through their paces. After ending his amazing, title-studded active career of 18 years at the close of the 2006 racing season, Stefan has discovered the best way to do this is to don the helmet, climb back into riding gear and get out there amongst the boys and the action. The factory riders had a great pre-season training session at Stefan’s Motocross School in Spain in January. Now, riding with his team in pre-season training is the perfect opportunity for Stefan to draw on his years of experience and pass on advice to his riders. “Stefan has had an amazing active career so it’s natural that he wants to get back on the track and ride with the boys. This way he’s not only having fun, he’s getting to know the KTM bike and he can draw on his rich experience to give the guys first hand tips,” said Pit Beirer, KTM Motorsport Manager.
