GREAT ALSO IN OSCHERSLEBEN 24 HOURS!
17 August 2005 - Aprilia

After Suzuka, another great performance for the RSV 1000 and the Aprilia-Motociclismo Team

In the Oschersleben 24 Hours, our bike has won the Superstock category, been the first European bike at the finishing line and got a great 7th place in the absolute standing (coming before the other two stock bikes and about 40 teams among Superbike, Superproduction and Open classes).

Differently from Suzuka, in Oschersleben the team has replaced Samuela De Nardi, racing in another competition, with Aprilia tester Fabrizio Pellizzon, surely the world’s fastest rider with the RSV 1000.

During the first qualifying session, Fabrizio succeeded in getting the 8th time and a good position in the starting grid; then, during the session in Friday, the team has focused its engagement in getting the best set-up for the bike.

The one day long race admired the great performances of the RSV 1000 and of all the riders (Aliverti, Veghini and Pellizzon), who were able to improve their position also in wet track conditions: the rain has in fact flooded the circuit in the last 6 hours of the race. Anyway, like during the whole race, the bike had no difficulty and the team guaranteed a good refuelling strategy: exploiting a fast \''splash and go\'' and the great final laps, Pellizzon succeeded in overtaking the Suzuki of the Team Fagersjo on the finishing line. Then, once again, the joy of the podium and of the Italian hymn!

After this race, the RSV 1000 and the Aprilia Motociclismo Team are now in 12th place in the world championship, despite the absence in Assen and the incident in Albacete.

Next race of FIM Endurance World Championship will be the 200 Miles in Vallelunga, on September 25th.
