VEGHINI DOMINATES THE 200 MILES OF RIJEKA
08 November 2006 - Aprilia
Fascinating endurance race
With 17 total seconds of advantage on Mauro Pellegrini, our Daniele Veghini won himself the 200 Miles of Rijeka, a fascinating endurance race that brought together riders from different championships on the Croatian circuit, atop motorcycles with total cylinders ranging from 550 to 1200cc’s. 2:01.03.550 was the exact time of the rider from Schio in the two races on Saturday and Sunday that saw the #37 RSV 1000 finish in first place in Race 1 and in second in the successive race (behind Pellegrini’s R1). It was an exalting performance for Veghini, who was already extremely fast in the qualifying sessions and, during the race, riding like a true spellbinder without committing any errors throughout the 76 total laps and the delicate refueling and cover change pit stops. At the end it is victory for Daniele and the Team Treviso 2000 that rose to the highest grade of the podium ahead of Pellegrini and Poliuto.
