SPEEDWAY 1

READING have agreed a major team sponsorship deal with Meridian Lifts, who were last involved in the Elite League with Poole.

Bulldogs co-promoter John Postlethwaite said: ''Meridian Lifts have been a great supporter of speedway through the years and we are delighted to have them on board for our 2007 campaign.

''We have put together a very strong team this year and hope to build on last year’s success.''

SPEEDWAY 2

NEWPORT have signed exciting Australian teenager Tom Hedley to complete their top three for the coming season.

Hedley is set to link up with experienced fellow countryman Craig Watson and former national team boss Neil Street at the Hayley Stadium.

Wasps promoter Tim Stone said: ''This is a great move for us. I''m sure Tom will make a wonderful bridge, if not more, between our top two heat-leaders.''

SPEEDWAY 3

BERWICK have been boosted by the renewal of their main team sponsorship deal with Anderson''s Quality Butchers.

The East Lothian-based butchers struck a strong working relationship with Bandits boss Peter Waite during their first season on board at Shielfield Park.

Waite said: ''They have helped us massively over the last twelve months and we will always be thankful and appreciative of their continuing support.''
