APRILIA TO DEFEND THE WORLD TITLE
18 August 2006 - Aprilia
Over the last few days, the Italian Motorcycle Federation compiled the list of riders who will be selected for the Six Days of Enduro which will take place in New Zealand from the 14th to the 19th of November.
The riders have been awaiting this list for a long time, given that our National team will be at the starting line of the oldest motorcycling competition with a team capable of winning the title, be it the World Trophy or the Junior. Theres a lot of enthusiasm for Team Aprilia Enduro which, after its official return, has recently made an impressive comeback, gaining great results on both the national and international levels. In fact, both the official riders from Noale, Alessandro Botturi and Alex Zanni, made the list of those selected for the World Trophy. A prize for the riders, but it is also an important recognition of the competitiveness and trustworthiness of the two-cylinder RXV 4.5 and RXV 5.5. We are undoubtedly very satisfied confirmed Ennio Marchesin, race director for Team Aprilia with the fact that in the year of our official return to enduro we immediately saw both our riders called upon for the Italian national team. Its due to the good results obtained; on the national level we are satisfied, while in the world setting, for now just a little fine tuning is missing and Im certain that it will soon be taken care of. Anyway, I believe that this selection is a great reward even for the whole team, for everyone who collaborated and worked hard, far away from the lights of the track. Im convinced that this convocation will be another stimulant driving us towards the great and prestigious responsibility that awaits us in New Zealand. Here is the list of the selected riders. World Trophy: E1 Simone Albergoni (Honda 250 4T); E1 Maurizio Micheluz (Yamaha 250 4T); E2 Roberto Bazzurri (Husqvarna 250); E2 Alessandro Botturi (Aprilia RXV 4.5); E2 Fabrizio Dini (Yamaha 450 4T); E2 Simone Tonelli (Honda 250); E3 Alessio Paoli (TM 300); E3 Alex Zanni (Aprilia RXV 5.5).
