SPEEDWAY NEWS AND FIXTURES 24.10.04
24 October 2004 - British Speedway Promoters Association

CHARLIE Gjedde has finalised terms to return to Swindon next season. The popular Dane joins Leigh Adams in the Robins squad with the rest to be confirmed after the sport’s AGM next month.

Robins boss Alun Rossiter said: “Charlie is very enthusiastic about Swindon and I feel sure he will have a big season in 2005. I’m very pleased with our team plans at this early stage.”

READING promoter Pat Bliss is predicting a close contest with champions Hull over the two legs of the Young Shield Final. She said: “With a full strength Reading side I feel the final will be very close and could go either way. “We know the size of the task ahead but we have the riders who can deliver the goods if they all perform at the right time.”

FORMER Wolverhampton duo Peter Karlsson and Jesper B Jensen are back at Monmore Green on Monday to race in the Ladbroke Olympique individual event. Jensen has spent the season on loan to Ipswich and Karlsson has missed out on a British team place but remains as popular as ever at Wolves. Promoter Chris Van Straaten said: “Peter was very enthusiastic when I offered him the booking.”
