Triumph Rocket III & Watsonian Monaco Sidecar Outfit

Watsonian-Squire sidecars celebrate their 95th anniversary this year and so it is fitting that the first outfit to roll out of their factory in the Heart of England in 2007 is British through and through. The 140 BHP 2300cc Triumph Rocket III was
supplied through Black Country Motorcycles of Dudley and Watsonian built and fitted a Watsonian Monaco Jubilee, painted to match bike’s distinctive colour scheme.

The Monaco was originally introduced in 1954 and was the company’s first glass fibre bodied sidecar. In its current incarnation it measures 2.6 metres in length and just 72cm wide, weighing in at 93KG and with leading link suspension for improved comfort and road holding. The Monaco provides plenty of legroom for its passenger and generous boot space (measuring 58x40x76 cm) for luggage or shopping too.

Pumping out 147 ftlbs of torque, delivered through a drive shaft rather than a chain, the Rocket III is well suited to sidecar work and Watsonian can supply model specific fittings on delivery or attach the sidecar in their factory, according to the customer’s requirements.

Watsonian Squire is the oldest sidecar maker in the world and one of only a dozen major manufacturers left, yet it has a full order book for its range of classic styles and modern designs from customers around the world.

Prices for the Watsonian Monaco start at £3,561 and customers can specify many options, including wheel size and the shape of the mudguard or nose cone. Watsonian sidecars even offer basic tuition for novice sidecar drivers.
