THE BEST APRILIA RIDER AT JEREZ
01 February 2007 - Aprilia

Gabor Talmasci of Master Aspar Team was the fastest Aprilia rider in the two days of testing at the Jerez de la Frontera circuit.

The Hungarian rider, who finished out the tests with today''s best time of 1.48.174, finished about four-tenths of a second ahead of Simone Corsi, the second fastest Aprilia rider.

The Roman rider, in his first outing with the team led by tehcnical head Italo Fontana, demonstrated to be consistent and well-trained. In the list of times registered at both sessions on the Andalusian track, Corsi always finished in 2nd. Today he had clocked in a best of 1:48.51 behind Lukas Pesek atop a Derbi.

Mattia Pasini, instead, is getting to know the RSA motorcycle that enjoyed success at the end of the 2006 season with Bautista. The rider from Team SSM Toshiba took advantage of these two days of testing to adapt himself to the new bike, different in every respect from the RS 125 that he rode until the end of the 2006 season. Pasini demonstrated to be trusting and positive regarding the new developmental project. Testimony to that is his 4th place finish in the 125 following today''s 1:48.633. Ahead of Pasini was his Italian teammate, Joan Olive, who rounded out today''s tests atop his RS 125 with a time of 1:48.551.

Federico Sandi (Simone Corsi''s teammate) also did well. The rider from Lombardy finished out the day with an optimal 1:48.718, demonstrating solid progression over the two days of testing.
