SPEEDWAY 1 WORKINGTON have pulled off a major club sponsorship deal with former backers Thomas Armstrong. The Comets and their fans are currently fighting council plans to exclude them from a new super stadium in 2010 – and Thomas Armstrong are keen to join the fight. Club owner Tony Mole said: “We’re delighted to have Thomas Armstrong Group back on board at a very important time for the club.” SPEEDWAY 2 NEWCASTLE have completed their team with the signings of Adam McKinna and Sean Stoddart. The Diamonds will track their youngest side in years with the oldest rider Josef Franc at 28 and newcomer Jonas Raun 17. Diamonds team boss George English said: “The reserves are both young lads full of enthusiasm and a desire to achieve a lot in the early part of their careers which will benefit Newcastle.” SPEEDWAY 3 SHEFFIELD’S meeting presenter David Hoggart is on the verge of joining the club’s management. Club owner Neil Machin is looking to appoint a sidekick after the departure of co-promoter Malcolm Wright and Hoggart will be interviewed by the British Speedway Promoters’ Association on February 13. ''I can confirm Neil and I have had several discussions on this subject,'' said Hoggart. ''It''s something which very much interests me.” FIXTURE SUNDAY FEBRUARY 11: TELFORD INDOOR ICE INTERNATIONAL: 3pm & 7.30
