SPEEDWAY 1 REDCAR have won the race to sign talented former British Under-15 Champion Josh Auty. The 16-year old will share a reserve position in the Bears'' line-up along with locally-based Rusty Hodgson. Auty said: ''I have tasted the delights of silverware already in my short career and I want more of it with the Redcar Bears. I am really looking forward to racing at Premier League level.'' SPEEDWAY 2 WORKINGTON co-promoter Ian Thomas has explained why he has changed his plans for the start of the season at Derwent Park. Thomas had intended to run an individual meeting on opening night, but the new-look Comets will now face Newcastle in a challenge match. Thomas said: ''We want to see the lads working together on and off the track, and I''m thinking more towards the new boys to British speedway.''
