SPEEDWAY NEWS AND FIXTURE 26.1.07
26 January 2007 - British Speedway Promoters Association
SPEEDWAY 1 EASTBOURNE manager Trevor Geer is confident that his team will have the strength in depth to make an impact this season. The Eagles have lost Adam Shields to Arena-Essex but have re-signed Davey Watt and the experienced Stefan Andersson. Geer said: ''We are being viewed as underdogs by some, but I am very happy with the team we have put together and I am sure we will surprise a few.'' SPEEDWAY 2 NEWPORT promoter Tim Stone is planning a special meeting on May 6 to mark ten years since the sport returned to the town. Former Wasps stars Anders Henriksson, Emil Lindqvist and Bjorn Gustafsson have already indicated that they will compete. Stone said: ''It will be terrific to get everyone together again for a day of memories and nostalgia, and hopefully there will be a few more surprises in the line-up.'' FIXTURE SUNDAY FEBRUARY 11: TELFORD INDOOR ICE INTERNATIONAL: 3pm & 7.30
