25 January 2007 - British Speedway Promoters Association
SPEEDWAY 1 WORLD No.2 Greg Hancock is the latest big name to be confirmed for Sam Ermolenko''s Farewell meeting at Wolverhampton on March 18. The American, a Monmore track specialist, joins World Champion Jason Crump in the line-up with more top stars to be announced shortly. Ermolenko said: ''It doesn''t get much more exciting than naming the top two guys in the world, and the rest of the line-up is almost there.'' SPEEDWAY 2 OXFORD owner Colin Horton has rejected out of hand speculation that Piotr Protasiewicz is a short-term signing for the Cheetahs. Protasiewicz has a busy racing programme this season, including matches in the Russian League. Horton said: ''It really does amaze me where these stories come from, but I can assure all Oxford supporters that Pepe is here for the season. I feel sure he will prove a massive hit.'' FIXTURE SUNDAY FEBRUARY 11: TELFORD INDOOR ICE INTERNATIONAL: 3pm & 7.30
