The American, a Monmore track specialist, joins World Champion Jason Crump in the line-up with more top stars to be announced shortly.

Ermolenko said: ''It doesn''t get much more exciting than naming the top two guys in the world, and the rest of the line-up is almost there.''

OXFORD owner Colin Horton has rejected out of hand speculation that Piotr Protasiewicz is a short-term signing for the Cheetahs.

Protasiewicz has a busy racing programme this season, including matches in the Russian League.

Horton said: ''It really does amaze me where these stories come from, but I can assure all Oxford supporters that Pepe is here for the season. I feel sure he will prove a massive hit.''
