2ND APRILIA VICTORY WITH MX 125
28 August 2006 - Aprilia
24 HOURS HARZRING 2006
The Aprilia team won the eight edition of the famous 24-hour-race for scooters and 125cc-bikes in Aschersleben/Germany – for the second time after 2004. The riders Manolito Welink, Jens Kuck, Harald Wirtz, Thomas Beyer, Lars Reichelt and Thilo Kozik drove their Aprilia MX 125 Supermoto on pole-position and had also the fastest lap during the 24h race ever. Especially during a period of heavy rain the Aprilia Supermoto team was clearly the fast on the track and won with a plus of 14 laps. “Our bike was a really standard one, that shows the big potential of the MX 125”, said team leader Thomas Beyer. The only changes were a steel brake line, shorter secondary transmission and added crash-protectors at the handlebar. The MX 125 was out on Michelin Pilot Power tires and special wet-tires during the rain.
