IVAN TEDESCO 8TH AT ANAHEIM
22 January 2007 - Suzuki Racing
Ivan Tedesco raced his RM-Z450 into eighth place after recovering from a slip-up at Saturday night’s Anaheim Supercross in California – the third round of the AMA Supercross series.
The Team Makita Suzuki rider - nursing an injured hand incurred in the opening round of the World Supercross series in Canada in December - made a challenge for the lead with race winner James Stewart on the opening laps but made a mistake halfway through the 20-lap Main Event. He plummeted to 10th position, but clawed back two places in the following laps. Reigning Champion and Tedesco’s Makita Suzuki team mate Ricky Carmichael did not race at the event as he has opted to ride only selected races in 2007 and was part of the TV Commentary team. Main Event: 1 James Stewart (Kawasaki), 2 Chad Reed (Yamaha), 3 Nick Wey (Honda), 4 Tim Ferry (Kawasaki), 5 Michael Byrne (Suzuki), 6 Kevin Windham (Honda), 7 Paul Carpenter (Kawasaki), 8 Ivan Tedesco (Makita Suzuki), 9 Jeff Summey (Honda), 10 Nate Ramsey (Yamaha). AMA Supercross Points (after 3 rounds): 1 Stewart 75, 2 Reed 62, 3 Ferry 50, 4 Wey 46, 5 Carmichael 44, 6 Byrne 42, 7 Windham 40, 8 Preston 36, 9 Tedesco 34, 10 Voss 32. World Supercross Points (after 5 rounds): 1 Stewart 117, 2 Reed 107, 3 Carmichael 91, 4 Ferry 84, 5 Wey 74, 6 Vuillemin 64, 7 Voss 56, 8 Preston 55, 9 Carpenter 53, 10 Byrne 51.
