2007 MOTORSPORT SEASON DATES ANNOUNCED
23 January 2007 - MotorSport Vision
A year of Parties in the Park at Cadwell
The countdown to the start of the 2007 motorsport season at Cadwell Park has begun, with the annual round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship once again headlining a superb lineup of events on two and four wheels. Louth based British Superbike Champion Ryuichi Kiyonari will be back at Cadwell Park on August Bank Holiday weekend, 25/26/27 August, to defend his 2006 title. Last years'' event attracted the biggest crowd since MotorSport Vision took over the circuit in 2004, with thousands more fans expected back this year to watch the powerful Superbikes literally fly over the Mountain. The British Kart Grand Prix also returns for a second season, following the success of last year''s event. These machines may look nothing more than skateboards with engines, but with 250cc Grand Prix motorcycle power on tap the drivers can reach speeds of up to 150mph around the twists and turns of Cadwell Park. The Vintage Sports Car Club ''Shuttleworth and Nuffield Trophies'' meeting on the other hand, is a must for anyone with a passion for pre-war supercars. Scheduled for 20 May, the event features glamorous machinery from the likes of Maserati, Cooper and Bugatti and while the cars may be venerable, the on-track rivalry ensures the racing is far from outdated. This, plus a host of exciting club racing action from bikes and cars on weekends throughout the season, guarantees something for everyone at Cadwell Park this year. The first major event of the season at Cadwell Park will be the VSCC Shuttleworth and Nuffield Trophies, which visit the Lincolnshire circuit on 19/20 May.
