21 October 2004 - British Speedway Promoters Association
TONY Mole is the new owner of Elite League giants Belle Vue and will take over from John Perrin next week.
The Kidderminster-based businessman also owns Premier League Workington and Mildenhall in the Conference. He said: “This is a terrific opportunity for me and I’m delighted to be involved with the most famous club in the world. I can confirm we will remain in the Elite League.” IAN Thomas is leaving Workington to become co-promoter and team manager at Belle Vue. New Aces owner Tony Mole said: “The change will do Ian the world of good, he has done very well for me at Workington and this is a great new challenge. “I also feel the change will benefit Workington as Ian himself has told me he felt he was becoming a bit stale.” CHAMPIONS Hull are on course for the Premier League treble after a superb double-header at Craven Park. They edged out Workington 52-42 in the semi-final of the Jack Young Shield and also gained a healthy 56-39 lead from the first leg of the Knockout Cup Final with the Isle of Wight. The return is next Tuesday and they will now face Reading in the Young Shield Final.
