IT''S good news week for Sam Ermolenko - and the champagne has been flowing at his Burton-on-Trent base!

''Sudden Sam'' became a grandfather on Monday when his daughter Jennifer gave birth to a baby girl, Isabella.

And on the same day the 1993 world champion confirmed the appearance of current world number one Jason Crump at his farewell meeting on March 18.
Said Sam: ''We''re all so excited, it''s been an amazing few days and I''m sure everyone can imagine how thrilled we are!

''I''m not sure being a grandad is good for my ''street cred'' but it''s a great feeling. I had to go into meetings on Monday after spending time with my daughter previously expecting something to happen, then it didn''t, then it did when I left!''
And the signing of Crump for his big day at Wolverhampton''s Monmore Green Stadium on Sunday, March 18, has come as more great news for the Ermolenko camp.

''Jason always said to me he would be there as long as it was all OK with his parent club,'' said Sam.

''He jumped at the chance and to have the current world champion there is just great news for the day itself, I''m so thrilled about it.

''Our talks were all at his pace, he said he wanted to do the meeting and it''s a great way for us to start the line-up by confirming the best rider in the world right now.
''Other guys will follow soon and I''m really delighted when riders say to me they''ve been hoping I would call them, that means a lot to me.

''I''m also talking to sponsors and other interested parties and it''s all coming together superbly right now.''
