SPEEDWAY NEWS AND FIXTURE 16.1.07
16 January 2007 - British Speedway Promoters Association
SPEEDWAY 1 BELLE Vue have finalised their team for the new season with three new signings. Ryan Fisher returns to British racing from America, Aces asset Kaj Laukkanen is back for his third spell with the club and Adam Skornicki joins from Wolverhampton. Said Skornicki: “Belle Vue are a big club who have had a lot of World champions over the years and it is a great thing for me to ride for a club with such a history.” SPEEDWAY 2 OXFORD have snapped up Polish international Pepe Protasiewicz to bolster their top end strength. The former Grand Prix star is joined by Adrian Miedzinski from Swindon and Swede Freddie Eriksson returns to the club. Adam Skornicki has now joined Belle Vue. Oxford owner Colin Horton said: “I have great respect for Skornicki, but he was making extra pay demands, and I won''t be blackmailed. I made sure he was lined up with another club before we dropped him.'' SPEEDWAY 3 BOSTON have swooped to sign the vastly experienced Jon Armstrong on loan from Mildenhall. Armstrong, who won the Conference League Riders’ Championship a decade ago, will spearhead the Barracuda’s challenge for honours at the Norfolk Arena next season. The former Belle Vue and Stoke man said: “I’m delighted with this move and will try and help the less experienced riders throughout the Boston team all I can.” FIXTURE SUNDAY FEBRUARY 11: TELFORD INDOOR ICE INTERNATIONAL: 3pm & 7.30
