SPEEDWAY 1 NEWPORT re-stage the New Year Classic at the Hayley Stadium on Sunday (1pm) - with a significantly better weather forecast! Promoter Tim Stone was forced to call the meeting off due to heavy rain last weekend but has managed to retain the majority of the field. LINE-UP: Chris Harris, David Howe, Richard Hall, Brent Werner, Leigh Lanham, Chris Neath, Phil Morris, Nicki Glanz, Michal Rajkowski, Glenn Cunningham, Ricky Ashworth, Shaun Tacey. SPEEDWAY 2 READING have completed their team for next season by announcing four signings at a fans'' forum at Smallmead. Skipper Greg Hancock, Travis McGowan and Sam Simota all return whilst Mark Lemon steps up after finishing 2006 as the club''s No.8. Co-promoter Jim Lynch said: ''We''re delighted to have put a team of this quality together, and it''s the team we wanted when we spoke about it at the end of last season.'' SPEEDWAY 3 WOLVERHAMPTON have signed Newcastle''s Carl Wilkinson to take a doubling-up spot at Monmore Green this season. Wilkinson will share a reserve berth with William Lawson having held a similar role with Ipswich in 2006. Wolves promoter Chris Van Straaten said: ''Carl had no hesitation in accepting our offer and he is very enthusiastic about this opportunity. He''s at the perfect age to make big strides forward.''
