FEMA RECRUITS NEW CAMPAIGNS'' OFFICER
20 October 2004 - Federation of European Motorcyclists' Associations

FEMA is pleased to extend a warm welcome to new staff member, Kerstin Fischer, recruited as Campaigns'' Officer to represent and promote European motorcyclists'' interests at the European institutions.

Kerstin comes to us with a strong International academic background, and
experience in lobbying the European institutions. She gained significant
experience in this area, namely by working for the European Consumers''
Organisation BEUC.

This German native lawyer speaks fluently English, French, Dutch and has an
interest in foreign cultures… this matches ideally with the FEMA''s
multicultural environment, uniting 22 national motorcyclists'' organisations
coming from 18 European countries.

An enthusiastic scooter rider, Kerstin also enjoys motorcycle travelling, and
one of her priorities is to get a full motorcycle licence in the near future.

When applying for the job, Kerstin said: ''''I shall be happy to bring in the
international experience I have acquired to the fullest benefit of FEMA, and I
am very much looking forward to working with the FEMA Secretariat and FEMA''s
Member Organisations''.

Bob Tomlins, FEMA''s Assistant Secretary General, one of the two persons in the
office who was dealing with political issues, has been appointed Coordinator of
the EU co-funded project undertaken by FEMA on Initial Rider Training in
Europe. He will be working on this project for the next eighteen months, whilst
continuing to represent FEMA and the International Coalition the United Nations
in Geneva.

We welcome Kerstin Fischer to the team of people serving the FEMA and its
members, and are very confident she will make a positive contribution to the
position.
