BLACK CAT TO SPONSOR AMA DIRT TRACK GRAND CHAMPIONSHIPS
Black Cat, the well-known fireworks maker, has signed as the title sponsor for the 2007 AMA Dirt Track Grand Championships. The title of the series this year will be AMA Black Cat Gold Dirt Track Grand Championships. The AMA Black Cat Dirt Track Grand Championships are the pinnacle of amateur dirt-track racing bringing together the top racers from across the country to the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds in Du Quoin, Ill., on July 1-7. The prestigious Dirt Track AMA Horizon Award is presented during this annual gathering. “We are happy Black Cat has come on board to sponsor the Dirt Track Grand Championships,” said Ken Saillant, AMA Flat Track Director. “Support from companies like Black Cat help make possible the continued growth of grass roots dirt track racing.” Black Cat’s sponsorship package also includes backing of the AMA Winter National Short Track Series, held during Bike Week and the Amateur Dirt Track National rounds in Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Washington, Wyoming and Illinois, leading up the Dirt Track Grand Championships. “It’s a natural to bring together two of the great American summertime pastimes of fireworks and dirt track motorcycle racing,” said Adrian Toader, marketing chief for Black Cat in the U.S. “Black Cat celebrates its 55th Anniversary in 2007, and its No. 1 position in the marketplace continues to be re-enforced by our marketing partnerships with sporting event leaders such as the AMA.” Black Cat Gold has sponsored Freestyle Motocross athletes and is now expanding into dirt track racing. Black Cat Gold Fireworks represent the ''best of category''. The GOLD line will be widely available this coming season and will provide the closest experience to professional displays available in consumer fireworks.
