Stalker and Cal pick up new Suzuki cars
RIZLA SUZUKI’S Chris ‘Stalker’ Walker and Cal Crutchlow recently visited Suzuki’s Milton Keynes headquarters to pick up their new cars. Cal opted for the racy but incredibly practical Suzuki Swift Sport. “It just suits my image,” laughed reigning British Supersport Champion Cal. “It’s a blast to drive and you can’t help but wring the neck of it every time you get into it. Put simply, it is massive fun and can surprise quite a few other cars on the road with its performance, and handling” The Swift Sport uses a 1.6-litre VVT engine that produces 125bhp and is married to an agile chassis, strong brakes and sports styled interior. It comes with 17-inch alloys, sports seats, twin exhausts and metallic paint for just £11,499. Stalker’s car of choice is a £16,399 four-wheel-drive 1.9DDiS five-door Grand Vitara. “I get my performance fix on the track racing Superbikes and anything else by comparison is pretty tame so I’ve gone for the practical option,” explained the four-time BSB runner-up. “It’s got bags of space, good economy and if I ever fancy going off-road it can cut it with the best. That suits me fine.” Rizla Suzuki Team Manager Simon Buckmaster said: “Both Cal and Chris are fun loving characters and typical Suzuki owners. The cars might not be able to match the Rizla Suzuki Superbikes for pace but for everyday enjoyment the Swift Sport and Grand Vitara are hard to beat.” Cal and Chris will be representing Rizla Suzuki in the 2007 British Superbike Championship aboard 200bhp GSX-R1000 Superbikes.
