SPEEDWAY 1 BRENT Werner defends the New Year Classic title as Newport stage their annual winter meeting this Sunday (1pm). Promoter Tim Stone said: ''I''m really pleased with the line-up, it''s tough to pick a winner and we''re all looking forward to a cracking meeting.'' LINE-UP: Chris Harris, David Howe, Edward Kennett, Richard Hall, Brent Werner, Leigh Lanham, Sam Simota, Chris Neath, Phil Morris, Nicki Glanz, Lubos Tomicek, Michal Rajkowski. SPEEDWAY 2 READING have completed the signing of Polish star Janusz Kolodziej for next season. Kolodziej, who helped the club reach last year’s Elite League Grand Final, has recovered from a shoulder operation. Bulldogs manager Jim Lynch said: ''Janusz played an integral part in our success last season, so we''re really pleased to have him back with us again this year.
