SPEEDWAY NEWS - 26 DECEMBER
26 December 2006 - British Speedway Promoters Association
SPEEDWAY 1 PETERBOROUGH boss Trevor Swales insists the club have nothing to answer for after announcing the signing of Kenneth Bjerre. The Dane''s former club Belle Vue have accused the Panthers of ''deplorable ethics'' as a transfer fee has yet to be agreed. Swales said: ''We have followed all the correct procedures throughout and the claims about an embargo until March are simply untrue.'' SPEEDWAY 2 JESPER B Jensen will captain Oxford next season as he joins the Cheetahs on loan from Peterborough. It will be Jensen''s second spell at Cowley as he stepped in during an injury crisis in 2005 before joining the Panthers full-time. Jensen said: ''I''m pleased to be back at Oxford, and I like the track. It''s taken me ten years to make the captaincy in any team.''
