27 December 2006 - British Speedway Promoters Association
SPEEDWAY 1 WORLD champion Jason Crump wants to lead Poole to silverware for many years to come. Crump was confirmed as a Pirates rider just before the Christmas break and forms a powerful spearhead with fellow Grand Prix star Bjarne Pedersen. He said: ''I''m delighted the deal has now been finalised and, now I''m here, I want to stay and lead Poole to glory for years to come.'' SPEEDWAY 2 BRENT Werner has admitted he considered quitting the sport at the end of last season - before landing a dream move to newcomer Birmingham. Werner was the first name on the teamsheet for the exciting relaunch of the sport at Perry Barr. He said: ''I really wasn''t bothered whether I rode a bike again, so this move to a new club like Birmingham is just what my career needs!''
